    Summary: A Company that has been recognized consistently as a transportation industry leader in superior customer service and on-time performance is searching for a Customs Broker for our Strategic Partner in Charlotte, NC.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include, but are not limited to:

    • Responsible for US Customs Compliance regulations, record keeping and provisions, GSP, HTS classifications, C-TPAT etc.
    • Oversees all day to day Import procedures, NAFTA requirements and all applicable administrative U.S. or foreign government programs, as well as the harmonized tariff classification operations.
    • Expected to uphold SEKO’s Core Values.



    Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.     • Knowledge of US Customs and International trade, with a basic understanding of customs valuation, classification, marking, first sale, NAFTA, compliance/audit and trade programs.
    • Client service orientation, initiative, responsiveness.
    • Experience with CargoWise preferred.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills a must.


    Certifications: US Customs Brokers License Preferred


    Education and / or Experience: Bachelor’s Degree preferred; 2 - 5 years previous US Customs Brokerage Experience or related experience in International Trade, Import Operations Customs Brokerage and US Customs Laws.

    Ability to:

    • Read and interpret documents such as operating and procedure manuals.
    • Write routine reports and correspondence.
    • Speak effectively to customers on the telephone
    • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
    • Compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
    • Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
    • Ability to work independently and as a team.
